Thomas Alva Goldman, age 80, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away with his daughter by his side at 3:25 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Cedar Creek Memory Care in Bloomington, Indiana.

Tom was born in Orange County, Indiana, on April 23, 1944, to Alva and Barbara (Flick) Goldman. 

He was a 1962 graduate of Springs Valley High School and was a United States Army Veteran, who served during the Vietnam Era.

He had previously worked for JL Wilson Construction in Bloomfield and Weddle Brothers in Bloomington and then retired from the City of Bloomington where he had been the sidewalk superintendent.

He was a member of the Carpenters Union.

Tom was an avid Sprint car and dirt track racing fan and loved the race community.  He also enjoyed playing golf.

Surviving is his daughter, Teresa “Teri” (Chuck) Hruby, Bloomington, IN, one sister, Yvonne “Vonnie” Wilkinson, Huron, IN, two brothers, Larry (Linda) Goldman, Loogootee, IN, and Cam Goldman, Lebanon, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is his wife, Patricia “Patty” Goldman, one sister, Marguerite “Margie” Stephenson, and one brother, George Goldman.

A gravesite service for Thomas A. Goldman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at St. Peter’s UCC in Dubois, Indiana.  The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rites.  At Tom’s burial he will be dressed in his favorite, casual racing attire, and the family asks that anyone who attends the services do the same.
