Food, fun, and fundraising came together on the evening of Saturday, September 7th, 2024, as 100 Cooks Who Care raised $209,200.00 for the Southwest Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition. The event features celebrity chefs from the area who create and cook entrees, appetizers, and desserts and then serve the dishes to attendees to raise as much money as possible for local non-profit organizations.

The bi-annual event presented by Old National Bank has now raised over one million dollars for local non-profits over the past 6 events. Funds are raised through sponsorship, ticket sales, chef tips, and auctions of featured items.

This year’s benefactor, Southwest Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition, provides a safe reporting location for victims of crime and their families with community-based multi-disciplinary teams that provide support, promote justice, and help prevent violence. With funds raised by 100 Cooks Who Care SWICACC will be able to continue providing services to children in Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Martin, Orange, Perry, and Spencer Counties.

The Golden Spatula Award was presented to John Schroeder for his “Filet A La John” for the most tips collected, at just over $9,000. The People’s Choice award went to Chefs Bill Potter and Ty Hunter for their “Devilish Eggs”. The Best Decorated Chef Booth went to Nick and Amanda Grothouse for their Mario Brothers Theme.

The event began in 2014 as 100 Men Who Cook and became 100 Cooks Who Care in 2022. Past Benefactors have been the National Guard Relief Fund, Dubois County Leukemia Association, E-5 Foundation, CASA of Dubois and Orange Counties, Mentors 4 Youth, and Crisis Connection.
