Simon O. Wigand, age 92, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Serenity Springs at Northwood in Jasper, Indiana.

Simon was born in Cuzco, Indiana, on May 4, 1933, to Peter and Veronica (Mercker) Wigand.  He married Sarah J. Terwiske on July 30, 1982, in Jasper, Indiana.

He was a United States Army Veteran.

He worked at Jasper Cabinet for 32 years. 

Simon was a member of the Ferdinand American Legion.

He enjoyed spending time working on his farm and horseback riding.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah Wigand, Jasper, IN, one son, Kirk Wigand, Jasper, IN, one step-daughter, Christine (Brett) Dorsam, Jasper, IN, one grandson, Travis Wigand, three step grandsons, Trey, Evan, and Quinn Dorsam, one great-grandson, Callum Wigand, and one step great-granddaughter, Ellie Dorsam, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are six sisters, Anna Voegerl, Cecilia Rohleder, Leona Kluemper, Francis Gehlhausen, Marcella Voegerl, and Henrietta Voegerl, and four brothers, Raymond, Albert, Bernard, and Paul Wigand.

Per Simon’s wishes, private services will be held at a later date.
