A man suspected of burglarizing a home near Rome, Indiana, has been arrested in Missouri. The Perry County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Gerald Weddle of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, after posting his photo online in late May and receiving multiple tips from the public.

Deputies learned Weddle was on federal parole for previous burglary and theft convictions across southern Indiana and Kentucky. He had recently been released from federal prison before the Perry County incident.

Authorities secured an arrest warrant for Weddle, who was taken into custody in Cooper County, Missouri, following a pursuit with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He will be extradited back to Indiana to face burglary and theft charges in Perry County.
