Zax Creamery has earned national recognition at the 2025 North American Ice Cream Association (NAICA) Convention, bringing home multiple awards from the organization’s annual Ice Cream Clinic and Flavor of the Year Competition.
In the Ice Cream Clinic — regarded as one of the most respected competitions for independent ice cream makers in the United States and Canada — Zax Creamery received Blue Ribbons for its chocolate and strawberry entries, signifying the highest level of excellence. The Jasper-based shop also earned a Red Ribbon for its vanilla, placing it among the top-performing creameries in the event’s three classic categories. All submissions were blind-tested and evaluated by dairy science specialists from Cornell University, with scoring based on flavor, texture, body, melt quality, and food-safety standards.
Zax Creamery also finished second nationwide in the Best New Non-Dairy Flavor of the Year category for its Cherry Cordial creation. The plant-based entry was recognized for its bright cherry flavor and rich chocolate flakes, earning high marks from convention attendees.
Fewer than 100 shops manufacture their own ice cream and participate in the NAICA competition each year, and Blue Ribbon recognition is considered the organization’s top achievement. Zax Creamery encourages the community to celebrate by trying its award-winning chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and Cherry Cordial flavors throughout the season.
Founded in 2018 by Zach Graber, Zax Creamery & Coffee produces small-batch ice cream and dairy-free options using high-quality ingredients and recipes crafted to deliver a memorable customer experience.
