Sheryl L. Schnell, age 66, of Dubois, Indiana, passed away with her family by her side at 5:37 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper.

Sherry was born in Jasper, Indiana, on November 22, 1959, to Robert G. and Florence L. (McGuire) Conrad. She married Allen E. Schnell on July 18, 1981, in St. Celestine Catholic Church.

She was a 1978 Northeast Dubois High School graduate. She went on to receive her esthetician license.

For 23 years she was a licensed beautician. Her passion was horses- She was a lifelong trainer and breeder.

She enjoyed camping, trail riding, horses, and was the type of person who never met a stranger.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Allen Schnell, Dubois; two children: Evan (Brittany) Schnell, Celestine; and Lindsey (Bradley) Danhafer, Dubois;  eight grandchildren: Presley, Hadyn, Lexi, Jagger, and Waylon Schnell, Corbin, Laeton, and Knox Danhafer, two sisters: Sheila (Scott) Taulman, Columbus; and Shelly (Mike) Letterman, Crystal; and brother, John (Pam) Conrad, Dubois.

Preceding her in death were her parents. 

Private family services for Sheryl L. Schnell will be held at a later date.
