The city of Jasper has a new Gas and Water manager.

Last night Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz introduced Tim Doersam as his appointment to the position. Doersam will replace long time manager Ernie Hinkle who plans to retire from the job come May 31st after serving the city for more than 30 years.

Doersam who takes over the very next day graduated from Jasper high School in 1981.

He joined Jasper Water Department in 1994 and became water filtration foreman in charge of the overall water production back in 2007.

He is certified with a WT-5 Water Operator License, A-SO Wastewater License, and a Degree in Heating and Air Conditioning from the ITT Technical Institute of Indianapolis.

Doersam stated he has been looking forward to being more involved with the community and says among his goals is more communication with city residents and utility customers.

 


Currently, he is Assistant Manager for the Gas & Water plant as he works alongside Hinkle by learning the ropes leading to the new manager’s position. He has supervisory experience and will be taking part in the hiring process of his replacement and other personnel changes.

Doersam lives in Jasper with his wife, LaVon and their three children.
