Margaret Ann Leistner, age 82, of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Brookside Village in Jasper, Indiana.

Margaret was born in Jasper, Indiana, on February 2, 1935, to Oscar and Frieda (Baer) Sendelweck. She married Melvin W. Leistner on April 24, 1956 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2016.

Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for over 35 years for Melvin Leistner Trucking, Roger Knies Trucking, and Tri-State Live Haul. She was also Avon representative for over 40 years.

She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois, Indiana, where she served as a past treasurer for the church council. She was on the Dubois Centennial Committee and the Dubois County Contractual Library Board.

Surviving are, two daughters, Gail Leistner, Jasper, IN, Karen Lechner, and her husband, Tim, Jasper, IN, one son, Keith Leistner, and his wife, Chrisy, Whiteland, IN, four grandchildren, Eric Lechner and his fiancé, Nathalie Buse, Kaitlyn Leistner, Jacob and Joseph Leistner, one great granddaughter, Kylie Fleck, three sisters, Marie Freyberger, Ireland, IN, Ruth Weisheit, Ireland, IN, and Linda Dudine, and her husband Don, Magnet, IN, one brother, Delbert Sendelweck, and his wife, Patricia, Portersville, IN, one sister-in-law, Marie Leistner, Evansville, IN.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are three brother -in- laws, Gerald Leistner, Rich Freyberger, and Kap Weisheit.

Funeral services for Margaret Ann Leistner will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor John Sterrett will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
