Local residents are invited to be a part of the Dubois County Local Foods Tour Monday October 30th.

The bus tour will visit local farms in Dubois Countyto explore what local food production looks like as well as how it contributes to the health of county residents and the local economy.

The tour will leave the Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds at 8 am and will return at 1:30 pm. Those interested should plan on arriving at the fairgrounds at 7:30 am to park and register for bus loading by 7:45.

Stops on this year’s tour will include Fischer Farms, Lindauer Family Dairy Farm and southern Indiana Purdue Ag Center.

They will also pay a visit to sander Processing to learn more about local butcher shops and the role Dubois County butchers play in local food chains for southern Indiana.

Due to limited seats, reservations are required by phoning the Purdue Extension Dubois County office at 812-482-1782 by tomorrow (Wednesday) October 11th.

Cost for the event is 10 dollars per person.
