Several parishes across the Dioceses of Evansville will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima’s final apparition also known as “the day the sun danced” because of the thousands who witnessed the Sun in Fatima, Portugal.

Locally at St. Joseph Parish in Jasper, following the 8 am mass this Friday October 13th, people may honor Out Lady of Fatima and obtain an indulgence by visiting her shrine in the rear of St. Joseph’s Church.

The requirements – and the prayers that are to be said – to obtain the indulgence will be made available.

St. Joseph’s is also hosting a public rosary at noon Saturday October 14th on the east lawn of the parish rain or shine. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
