An accident at the intersection of US 231 and County Road 100 South on the south side of Jasper occurred after both drivers involved say they had green lights.

Thursday, just after 12 p.m. 23-year-old Kala Bean of Jasper was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima traveling South Bound on US 231 approaching the intersection of County Road 100 South when 32-year-old Aaron Hurst of Jasper in a 2017 Camry was east bound on County Road 100 South stopped at the intersection of US 231.

Hurst told police the traffic light turned green for him and he pulled into the intersection. Bean also advised police that she too had a green light and continued through the intersection.

24-year-old Bean drove into the left side of Hurst’s Camry.

Bean was transported to Jasper Memorial for pain to her right arm, while Hurst said he experienced pain to his left arm but refused transport to the hospital.

Police say the accident remains under investigation.
