Dedication of Ferdinand Veterans Memorial

A dedication ceremony for the Ferdinand Veterans Memorial will take place on Memorial Day at 2 pm EST.

The memorial was constructed on the north side of Ferdinand and was built to honor the service of all United States veterans.

The Memorial features a large granite monument that thanks all U.S. veterans, five smaller monuments that represent each branch of the military, and three flags– the U.S. flag, the Indiana state flag, and the black flag POW/MIA flag.

A granite stone with an engraving that saying “All gave some, some gave all” will be placed at the foot of the monument.

U.S. Senator Mike Braun will speak at the dedication, along with Indiana Senator Mark Messmer, and Ken Sicard, the Ferdinand Town Council President.

The Forest Park High School will play patriotic songs.

Public parking will be at Ferdinand Community Center, along with a free shuttle transporting guests to the memorial site.

Pine Drive and Rose Heights neighborhoods will be closed off, due to traffic, with the exception of handicapped parking and VIP.
