An Evansville woman was injured in a two vehicle accident in Jasper this morning in which the impact of the collision caused her SUV to roll onto its side.

Jasper Police say just before 8 am today vehicles driven by 27-year old Amanda Braun of Evansville and 30-year old Lora Oxley of Jasper were both traveling westbound on 6th Street approaching Bartley Street with Oxley in the lead.

Oxley told police she had slowed and moved into the center turn lane in order to turn left into the parking lot of nearby Family Video.

Meanwhile Braun told police she was distracted and her SUV too went into the center lane and struck Oxley’s cross-over.

The impact caused Braun’s SUV to roll onto its side. She had to be extracted by members of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department and was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center after complaining of pain to her right side.

The accident caused 8-thousand dollars damage to Braun’ SUV and 2-thousand dollars damage to Oxley’s cross-over SUV.

Amanda Braun was ticketed by Jasper Police for Driving left of Center.
