Figures have been released from the recent Operation Pullover Blitz that took place over the Thanksgiving holiday period.

Jasper Police say officers with their department worked 42 hours of overtime patrol during the blitz that was also taken in part by over 250 law enforcement agencies across the state.

The overtime was worked from November 13th through December 6th and was paid for by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute to focus on impaired driving, aggressive driving, and safety belt usage.

During this enforcement period Officers issued:

-11 traffic citations

-75 speeding warnings

-79 miscellaneous traffic related warnings

The Jasper Police Department would like to remind all drivers to drive safely over the Holiday Season and to utilize a designated driver if consuming alcohol.

And always keep in mind that even without extra overtime enforcement, officers will always continue to be on the lookout for impaired drivers and that anyone caught driving over the legal limit will be arrested.
