The Indiana Department of Transportation says upcoming restrictions will take place on the State Road 237 Bob Cummings Lincoln Trail Bridge that connects Cannelton and Hawesville, Kentucky.

INDOT says Contractors will begin preliminary work on the bridge at the beginning of February. At that time there will be no visible signs of work, but the department says shortly after, lanes will be restricted as workers perform maintenance retrofit and repair the locations of fatigue-prone details and address other needed high-priority repairs.

INDOT anticipates the bridge will remain open to traffic utilizing a single lane with signals strategically placed to accommodate traffic congestion issues on both sides.

The State Road 237 Bob Cummings Lincoln Trail bridge is located about one-third of a mile south of State Road 66 in Perry County and Hancock County, Ky.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews. For construction updates and traffic alerts, follow INDOT on Facebook at facebook.com/INDOTVincennesDistrict and Twitter at twitter.com/INDOTSouthwest, or access INDOT’s TrafficWise website at indot.carsprogram.org.
