Spencer County resident Thomas Brown is throwing his hat in the ring as the Republican candidate to replace District 3 Commissioner David Gogel who does not plan to seek re-election.

Now while it’s still early in the 2016 election season, Brown plans to share his platform with the voting public as they begin to weigh their options for the November contest.

The 66-year old Brown is recently retired form Kimball International after serving 17 years with the company.

Much of his professional life has been dedicated to the fields of quality control, waste reduction and facilitation between different departments. Brown says he hopes to share his many years in service with his community.

While he hopes to promote more economic development and improve the workings of county government, Brown says he also fully intends to celebrate what he considers the county’s greatest natural assets.  In particular, he hopes to support farming families and preserve the county’s strong agricultural tradition even as more modern industry helps guide the county into the future.
