Catherine “Betts” E. Terwiske, age 85, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 8:53 p.m. on Friday (January 29, 2016) at home.

Betts was born in Ireland, Indiana on February 3, 1930 to Robert and Anna (Weidenbenner) Steinhart. She married Robert Terwiske Sr. on January 10, 1950 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1985.

Betts was a graduate of Ireland High School.

Betts was a cook at Jasper High School.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, the St. Ann’s Society, and she volunteered for many organizations.

She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services for Catherine “Betts” E. (Steinhart) Terwiske will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday (February 3, 2016), at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, IN, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (February 2, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Building Fund or a favorite charity.
