Coming from the town of Portballintrae from the country of Ireland, Barry Dunlop arrived in Chicago working in the Hilton corporation as a trained chef at first and shares his journey in his arrival to Jasper and calling it home.

About 6 years ago, Dunlop met Jasper native, Brittany Becher, on her birthday in Chicago as he was working for a company who took clients to experience the Chicago lounges & restaurant atmosphere.

They connected through their mutual interest of traveling the world. They got married on September 6, 2014. His family from Portballintrae, Ireland came to Jasper for the wedding and they get to see the couple at least once a year when they visit Europe.

Currently, Dunlop is the drink mixologist at Five Fourteen restaurant. He elaborates on the reasons he and his wife decided to move and live in Jasper.

He adds that he loves Jasper since it reminds him of back home due to the sense of community and friendly interactions.

Being from the country of Ireland Dunlop shares his experience on the 1st time he saw how St. Patrick’s day was celebrated in the states when he use to live in Chicago and how it has influenced Ireland.

Dunlop and his wife Brittany plan to continue their travels in the future but see Jasper as the special place they can always come back home to.
