Conservation Officers with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources have now taken part in the investigation of a man found dead near a body of water north of Jasper early Wednesday evening.

Officers who are conducting the investigation into the death of 43-year if Kenneth Gauker of Plainfield say the cause of Gauker’s death may have possibly be the result of a drowning.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday morning at the Becher-Kluesner funeral in Jasper.

Conservation Officers say foul play is not believed to have played a part in Gauker’s death but say that their investigation is ongoing.

First Responders with the Haysville Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services, the Dubois County Coroner’s Office and Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home all assisted.
