A single vehicle accident in northeast Dubois County Tuesday evening ended with the arrest of a Jasper woman on alcohol and drug related charges.

Shortly after 6 o’clock last night deputies with the Dubois County Sherrif’s Department learned from witnesses that a car driven by 23-year old Shae Burress of Jasper was traveling at a high rate of speed on the wrong side of State Road 56 near the Cuzco Road headed east.

Authorites say her car struck a telephone pole and rolled several times before landing on it’s top.

Deputies say Burress was able to exit her vehicle through a window. She was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for minor injuries.

Now while at Memorial Burress’ Blood Alcohol Content measured at .176 Percent; more than half the legal limit.

She was released into the custody of authorities and taken to the Dubois County Security Center where she was booked on charges of Operating While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving and Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia.
