Eugene Leonard “Lenny” Blessinger, age 73, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:38 a.m. on Tuesday (May 3, 2016) at University of Louisville Hospital.

Eugene BlessingerLenny was born in Jasper, Indiana, on July 31, 1942, to Leo and Florentina (Merkley) Blessinger.  He married Margaret Bohnert on February 8, 1964 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Lenny retired from Jasper Cabinet Company, where he had worked for several years.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and the Jasper Outdoor Recreation.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, landscaping, reading, cooking, and watching basketball and old movies.

Stacey Willis, and her husband, Chris, Allegan, MI

Tom Blessinger, and his wife Christy, Jasper, IN

Blake Blessinger, Britteny Watkins, Justin Wright, and Amy Wright

Kaylee Carnahan and Jaxton Watkins

Jeannie Leinenbach, and her husband, Ronnie, Jasper, IN

One brother,

Leo Blessinger Jr., and her wife Germaine Blessinger

Preceding him in death are four sisters, Doris Burke,  Rose Wehr, Lucy Ambs, and Bernice Miller, and three brothers, Edwin, Paul, and Conrad Blessinger.

Funeral services for Blessinger will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday (May 5, 2016) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service time at the church on Thursday.
