The first of five area high schools will hold graduation ceremonies this evening as graduates of the Southridge High School Class of 2016 will pick up their diplomas tonight.

119 seniors will be honored at ceremonies set to take place at the Huntingburg Memorial Gymnasium at 7:30 pm.

Now there are 5 valedictorians this year. They include:

  • Sydney Altmeyer
  • Haley Barnett
  • Katheryn Brewer
  • Mitchell Mundy
  • and Brittany Smith

Along with a pair of salutatorians:

  • Melissa Hanebutt
  • and Brittany Tretter

All 7 students will speak at tonight’s commencement.

Ceremonies at Jasper, Forest Park, Northeast Dubois, and Heritage Hills High Schools will be held next weekend.
