Walter Guido Seaton, age 95 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:22 p.m. on Friday (May 20, 2016) at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, IN.

Guido was born on January 17, 1921 in Beechwood, Indiana to Eddie Cleo and Anna (Wiseman) Seaton.  He married Edwina Otto on October 25, 1947 in St. Meinrad Archabbey Catholic Church.  She preceded him in death on January 15, 2016.

He served as a U.S. Navy Seabee in the South Pacific and Okinawa during WWII.

Guido retired from the Indiana Telephone Company/Contel after 45 years of service, and served on the Jasper Utility Board.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jasper Kiwanis, Jasper Outdoor Recreation, the Huntingburg YMI, and the VFW.

He played semi-pro baseball in the Indiana-Kentucky League for the Huntingburg Merchants, and the Jasper Reds.  He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Huntingburg Bombers baseball, and Jasper High School sports.

Preceding him in death beside his wife were three sisters; Violet Bullington, Ruby Johnson, and Betty Seaton, four brothers; Harold, Charles, Calvin and Ed Seaton, and one daughter-in-law Jenny Seaton.

Funeral services for Guido Seaton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (May 25, 2016), in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  The Jasper VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from Noon to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (May 24, 2016), at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.   The Huntingburg YMI will conduct a memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
