James R. Adams, age 76 of Jasper, Indiana, formerly of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away at 12:00 a.m. on Thursday (June 23, 2016) at home.

James AdamsJames was born in Bradley County, Arkansas on July 12, 1939 to Raymond and Barbara (Goodwin) Adams. He married Sally Jo Sanders on March 31, 1987 in Arcadia, Florida.

James retired in 1995 as a Maintenance Supervisor for Delco Electronics in Kokomo, Indiana.

He was a Green Beret Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Jasper VFW Post #673 and the Jasper American Legion Post #147.

He enjoyed running 5k races for charity and participating in martial arts tournaments. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his cat Sandy.

Preceding him in death was one sister, Martha Adams.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for James R. Adams will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday (June 27, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana. Pastor Gerald Fry will officiate. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation.
