A Jasper man was taken into custody Sunday evening on a warrant for burglary and other offenses as well as drug charges.

Jasper Police say at 9 pm they were made aware of a man identified as 19-year old Kyle Peckinpaugh of Jasper at an address located along the 13-hundred block of Main Street who had several felony warrants for his arrest.

Police say when they arrived at the 13th Street location Peckinpaugh fled on foot. They say he ran through several alley ways, yards, parking lots, and across  a busy highway with police in pursuit.

Police say Peckinpaugh was told several times to stop but continued to run. They say he attempted to hide in a neighborhood garage. Peckinpaugh was located moments later and attempted flee again despite warning by police that he would be tased.

He did not stop and was eventually tased by authorities after which he complied with officers and was placed under arrest.

A search resulted in the discovery of marijuana as well as paraphernalia. He was treated by EMS and eventually taken to the Dubois County Security Center where he was booked for the charges pertaining to the warrants, resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
