Clara V. Hurm, age 93, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 12:36 a.m. on Saturday (July 2, 2016) at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.

Clara HurmClara was born in Tell City, Indiana on August 1, 1922 to Hilary and Laura (Braunecker) Gramelspacher.  She married Victor Hurm on January 30, 1943. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1974.

 

Clara was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the St. Ann’s Society and the Jasper D of I.  She was also a former volunteer at several nursing facilities in Jasper.

 

She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bowling, and spending time with family and friends, especially going on trips and outings with them.

Patty Bailey, and her husband, Ronnie, Jasper, IN

Debbie Freyberger, and her husband, Scott, Elizabethtown, KY

Victor Hurm Jr., and his wife, Brenda, Jasper, IN

Gene Hurm, and his wife, Janet,  Tell City, IN

David Hurm, and his wife, Joey, Jasper, IN

Four step great grandchildren

Two sisters,

Bertilla Bell, Evansville, IN

Dorothy “Dottie” Wright, Owensboro, KY

 

Preceding her in death besides her husband are three grandchildren, Matthew Marks and infant twins Laura and Henry Freyberger,  three sisters, Lorena Gramelspacher, Viola Zoglman, and  Hildegard Miller, and four brothers, Peter, Ervine, Earl, and Hilary Gramelspacher.

 

Funeral services for Clara V. Hurm will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (July 6, 2016) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

 

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (July 5, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.  The St. Ann’s Society and the Jasper D of I will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Dubois County Community Foundation or to a favorite charity.
