Classes are set to begin for students of the Southwest Dubois School Corporation Wednesday, August 10th and necessary steps to prepare for the upcoming school year are now underway.

Southwest Superintendent Mike Eineman says schools across the district are already experiencing traffic from teachers and staff as they prepare for the new school year.

He says all of the corporation’s buildings are set to go as custodial personnel have done a great job this summer getting everything ready.

Also teachers have already been going in during the summer months to prepare for their classes and have been invested in their professional development.

Superintendent Eineman elaborates on the upcoming conference the district is putting together for educators to brush up on the evolution of technology as it changes especially with new material they will be using in the classroom.

Superintendent Eineman says some presenters may come from the 5-star technology group and some from within the corporation. This conference will take place August 4th at 8 am.

Other dates to keep in mind are August 2nd for book renewal, August 9th for the 1st day for teachers, and again August 10th as the first day of class.

The next SW Dubois board meeting is scheduled for August 18th.
