The Jasper’s Cathedral Health Care Center hosted a ribbon-cutting for their grand opening and open house Friday afternoon.

The Cathedral Health Care Center has undergone extensive remodeling since being converted from Providence Home Health Care Center in 2014. Providence was purchased by Ide Management Group, a company that manages skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa.

Many participated at the ribbon-cutting event, including, Cathedral Health Care Center personnel, residents, Administrator Beau Kellams, Father Angelo Quadrini and Father Ray Brenner, Jasper Chamber of Commerce representatives as well as guests. Residents and guest shared conversations throughout the facility and enjoyed gourmet food with family and friends.

It was an interactive event with tours to view both the downstairs renovations such as the therapy room, and access the upstairs through the new elevator to the other key renovated rooms. A silent auction took place to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association during the event. Kellams explains that this open house event has been planned since Mark Ide bought the facility on Nov. 1st 2014.

The construction company, Master Built Construction, was essential to the renovations throughout the facility such as the 45 hundred pound T-K new elevator.

 

Kellams elaborates on the approach his administration has spear headed an optimistic atmosphere for the Cathedral personnel.

 

There are over 50 employees for the Cathedral who help residents in the 2 floor facility. Director of Nursing, Allison Braun,RN , describes that she joined the staff in February of this year due to the positive feeling of being around so many good people that are working there for the right reasons.

Kellams says that in his 10 years of professional administrative work in the long-term care industry he believes that taking care of the residents is priority and that the overall family atmosphere makes the Cathedral Health Care Center like home.
