A Huntingburg man lost his life and 3 others were injured in a three vehicle accident along US Hwy 41 and Hillsdale Road in Evansville Sunday.

Deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene of the accident where authorities say one of the vehicles involved was traveling east on East Hillsdale Road before entering the intersection at 41.

They say that car hit a black SUV driven by 73-year old Robert Turner of Huntingburg deputies say was headed north on 41 and the impact of the collision caused the SUV to roll over several times before hitting a Jeep waiting to turn right at the red light.

There were four people in the SUV. Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other three were taken to the hospital.

The drivers of the other vehicles involved were not injured.

Authorities say their investigation in Sunday’s fatal accident is ongoing.
