TRI-CAP along with Miller-Valentine Group and their partner organizations are proud to announce the grand opening of the Lofts at St. Josephs apartments in Huntingburg Indiana. The Lofts at St. Joseph’s cater to a community of adults 55 and over and consist of 45 maintenance free, pet friendly, one and two bedroom apartment homes. The Lofts also offer a community multipurpose room, media room and fitness center.

The grand opening featured Representatives for U.S. Senator Dan Coats and U.S. Congressman Larry Buschons offices. Speaking on behalf of TRI-CAP was Neil Elkings. Representing the city of Huntingburg was Mayor Denny Spinner. Tom Krodel the Regional President of Old National Bank, Alan Rakowski the Rental Housing Tax Credit Manager and Rori Chaney from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. The opening ceremony was lead by Pete Schwiegeraht, the Senior Director of Miller-Vallentine residential development.

As a new resident Loretta Wickenhauser also spoke at the grand opening and shared of her experience at the new complex. Mrs. Wickenhauser provided a tour of her new apartment to the WJTS news crew and is quoted saying that “She (I) feels very, very, at home in the lofts (here).”

Pete Schwiegeraht expressed how pleased he was with the turn out of the project and the ability to bring housing to the community.

Neil Elkings the housing services director reported that TRI-CAP is currently working on future projects.

Mayor Denny Spinner the mayor of Huntingburg was very pleased with community morale and support surrounding this project.

The Lofts at St. Joseph’s has generated 68 new jobs during its construction and provided over 3.9 million in income that include wages for workers and revenue for local businesses.

The senior apartment complex is the final product of the redevelopment of the old St. Josephs Hospital in Huntingburg. The project broke ground on march 27, 2015 and celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday August 31, 2016. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the front entrance door of the new complex followed by a reception in the new community room. The Lofts at St. Joseph are located on the north edge of Huntingburg at 1900 Medical Arts Boulevard.
