A Jasper woman was taken into custody over the weekend on a misdemeanor count of theft after she was caught shoplifting at the Jasper Wal-Mart Store. Shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon Jasper Police were called to the Wal-Mart super center located on Jasper’s north-side where police say 29-year old Popppy Brown of Jasper was being detained by store personnel.

Police say Brown is believed to have attempted to leave the the store with over 134-dollars worth of cosmetic items concealed in her purse. Brown was booked into the Dubois County Security Center on a Class A Misdemeanor count of Theft.
