Theodore Stephen Melvin, age 63, of Huntingburg, passed away at 6:26 p.m., on Sunday, November 13, 2016, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

theodore-melvin-obit-photo780_edited-1He was born August 13, 1953, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Raymond E. and Helen (Cooper) Melvin and subsequently adopted into the Melvin Houchin family. He served in the United States Army from 1973-1974 with overseas postings in Germany. Theodore loved to work and was employed by Masterbrand at their Ferdinand Plant; he also enjoyed watching movies and spending time at home. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by:

His daughter,
Angie (Willie) Melvin of Owensboro, Kentucky;
His son,
Jonathan Kessinger of Owensboro, Kentucky;
and three grandchildren.

Funeral services for Theodore Melvin will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Friends are invited to attend the service and visitation will be held immediately prior to the start of the funeral.

Interment with military graveside honors will take place at 11:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at the New Albany National Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com.
