Officials with the City of Jasper say samples of water from the Jasper Water Department neighborhood boil order have passed the first of two lab tests.

Late Monday afternoon, a water line at the intersection of 13th & Bartley Streets ruptured and due to the nature of this work the City of Jasper Gas & Water Department has issued a neighborhood boil order for all customers along

• Bartley Street from 9th Street to 15th Street

• MacArthur Street from 9th Street to 13th Street

• and 13th Street from Bartley to MacArthur

The area affected includes the St. Thomas Medical Center located on the northwest corner of 13th and Bartley.

City officials will be conducting a test of a second water sample to determine when the water is safe to consume.
