Ronald J. Berger, age 81 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Monday (December 26, 2016) at home.

Ronald was born in Jasper, Indiana on August 3, 1935 to Odillo and Carolyn (Kunkel) Berger . He married Linda Kemp on September 10, 1960 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. She preceded him in death on June 22, 2012.

He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving from 1954-1958.

Ronald worked at the Jasper Corporation and then retired from the Jasper City Police Department, where he had been a police officer for 20 years. After retirement he worked for the Jasper Municipal Golf Course.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

He enjoyed watching football and baseball, especially the Oakland Raiders and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Four grandchildren

Preceding him in death besides his wife is one grandson, Ronald Anthony Berger.

Funeral services for Ronald J. Berger will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday (December 29, 2016), at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rights.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (December 28, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN.
