Arthur J. Schnell, age 92 of Celestine, Indiana, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Saturday (December 24, 2016) at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Arthur was born in Celestine, Indiana on November 15, 1924 to Jacob and Thresia (Hauser) Schnell. He married Henrietta M. Auffart on January 12, 1952 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.

Arthur was a lifelong farmer and worked in Real Estate as an agent for Key Associates in French Lick, Indiana. Also served on the board of the Celestine Fire Insurance Company over thirty years.

He graduated from Cuzco High School.

He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church – Celestine Campus.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, his dogs and working outdoors.

Preceding him in death were three sisters; Margaret Vogler, Marie Mundy, and Lorena Gutgsell, and three brothers; Anthony, Edwin, and Hilbert H. Schnell.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur J. Schnell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (December 28, 2016) at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Wednesday (December 28, 2016) at St. Isidore Catholic Church – Celestine Campus in Celestine, Indiana.
