A man and woman were placed under arrest on a number of charges involving drugs Friday morning in Ferdinand. Just before 9 am yesterday officers with the Ferdinand Police Department were called to a residence located along the 600 block of West 9th Street to the complaint of possible trespassing.

When police arrived they came upon 4 individuals outside the residence attempting to jump start a vehicle as police say turns out did not belong to any of them. Police noticed that a female identified as 28-year old Teresa Sturgill of French Lick, was holding two small black bags police say contained methamphetamine, heroin, syringes and other small items used with drugs.

Police later found that Sturgill was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Orange County. Sturgill was taken into custody and faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin. As well as possession of paraphernalia and false reporting. Police also placed 29-year old Trent King of English under arrest. He is charged with  possession of drug paraphernalia. The other two suspects were told not to return to the property by the owners.

Sturgill and King were taken to and booked into the Dubois County Security Center. Ferdinand police were assisted on the scene by an Indiana State Police K-9 team.
