The Jasper Police Department would like to warn the public of yet another scam. The scam is an email notice appearing to come from the “Department of Motor Vehicles” alleging that the recipient has violated a traffic law and has 72 hrs to pay the ticket.
There is a link in the email to submit payment. This is not the way any of our local or state police departments, county clerks offices, or Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles conduct business. If you receive a suspicious email, please do not click on any links or send money.
