Jasper Police have made an arrest in connection to a vehicle theft that was reported earlier this week.

Police say this past Wednesday officers took a report of a red Chevrolet Lumina that had been stolen, from a residence on Jasper’s Northside.

Around a quarter till 8 this morning an officer with the Jasper Police Department observed a similar vehicle parked in the front lot of the Super 8 Hotel along Indiana Street.

An investigation by police determined the car to be the one that was stolen on Wednesday.
Officers were informed that the individual associated with the vehicle was staying in Room 212 of the hotel.

That’s where police found and spoke with 31-year old Vicki Strotman of Jasper who admitted to to police of possessing the vehicle however denied any knowledge of it being stolen.

In a search of the hotel room, Officers located a hypodermic syringe, drug paraphernalia and Methamphetamines.

Strotman was taken into custody and booked into the Dubois County Security Center on charges of Auto Theft, Possession of Methamphetamines and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe all Level 6 Felonies.

Strotman was also charged with Possession of Paraphernalia a Class A Misdemeanor.

Jasper Police received assistance at the scene from Dubois County Child Protective Services.
