The local collection is part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Pharmaceutical Drug Take Back event.

Expired, unwanted and unused medications, vitamins, ointments, syrups, drops and aerosols that are not in pressurized containers will be accepted at the collection sites.

No sharp or infectious materials, anything containing bodily fluids or waste will be collected.

Collection will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jasper State Police Post; from 10 am till noon at the Celestine Fire Station and from 10 am till noon at the St. Henry Fire Station.

Please note that the Huntingburg Police Station accepts pharmaceuticals 24/7 in their dropbox located at 503 E. First Street in Huntingburg.

Correct disposal of medications creates a safer and cleaner environment, and greater public awareness reduces illegal activities and the scavenging of personal property and public waste receptacles.
