In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 30, 2017, a Jasper Police Department Officer observed a vehicle disregard the barricades at 2nd Street and Clay Street and drive through the high water. A traffic stop was initiated at 5th and Clay.

Upon making contact with the vehicle, officers detected odor of alcoholic beverages. Upon investigation, the driver, Madison Spond, was taken into custody and transported to Memorial Hospital.

Spond tested .148 and was transported to Dubois County Security Center. Spond was charged with OWI.
