Larry Hochmeister, age 71, passed away at 9:27 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Larry was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on February 28, 1946 to Lewis and Edna (Jones) Hochmeister. He married Kris Elliott on June 23, 1973 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

Larry was a 1964 graduate of Huntingburg High School and was a 1977 graduate of Purdue University.

He was a United States Army Veteran, who served and was wounded during Vietnam.

He previously worked in purchasing at Masterbrand Cabinets for 19 years, and most recently has been a wood products sales representative for Mears Quality Products for over 15 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Post #673.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bicycling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Kris Hochmeister, Jasper, IN, two daughters, Lisa Valle (Laurent), Fishers, IN, Jayme Roos, Jasper, one son Nick Hochmeister (Jenna), Evansville, IN, 7 grandchildren, one sister, Retta Ferguson (Irvin), Greensburg, IN, one brother, Gordon Hochmeister (Jean), Washington, IN.

Preceding him in death are one sister, Jan Blackgrove, and two brothers, Fred and Noble Hochmeister.

A service for Larry Hochmeister will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Mayo Cemetery in Duff, Indiana. The V.F.W. Post #673 will conduct military graveside rites.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Community Foundation/Elliott Family Endowment, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
