This year’s recipient of the Tonya Heim Nursing Scholarship is Amber Mundy of Huntingburg. Amber works as a case manager at Memorial Home Care plans to obtain a BSN degree.

Tonya Heim is the Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Memorial Hospital.

This year through the Tonya Heim Scholarship, Amber will receive $1,500 to help her achieve her nursing degree.

Multiple scholarship applications were completed and submitted to the Memorial Hospital Foundation office by the March 1 deadline.

A panel of three judges read the applications with the first priority of the scholarship being; to provide assistance to RN employees of Memorial Hospital who are enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited advancement program toward a BSN degree; second priority is to provide assistance for advancement to an MSN degree; third priority is for a DNP or Ph.D. nursing degree; and final priority is for assistance for those pursuing advance practice degrees.
