Next Act, Inc.., the local 501c3 arts organization that purchased the Astra Theatre and, currently, is partnered with Seufert Construction for its major renovation needs, is seeking to expand its board of directors.  First formed in October 2014, the Next Act has operated with six volunteer board members while having nine available seats.

“We have long been working toward a fully-renovated Astra Theatre,” said Leslie Hamby, Next Act’s chairperson.  “Now that we are starting to see where that road ends, we felt the timing most appropriate to add to our board so that there are fresh thoughts, fresh minds, and new energy.  We encourage anyone with a passion for the arts and non-profits to apply.”

Candidates are encouraged to send a cover letter and resume by email to info@theNextAct.org or by postal mail to Next Act, P.O. Box 23, Jasper, Indiana 47547 by Friday, August 4, 2017.  Next Act is seeking applicants that are passionate for the Astra Theatre and the arts, have strong communications skills, and a strong work ethic.

Next Act’s public membership campaign is still underway and all funds raised will be used for additional design and decor enhancements to the interior renovation and maintenance of the facility.  Incentive levels begin at $50 and include t-shirts, Libby’s Ice Cream (monthly), Brew’s Coffee (weekly), growlers and refills from Schnitz Brewery & Pub as well as St. Benedict’s Brew Works (monthly), and seat naming opportunities (very limited amount left).  For additional information about the Next Act, the historic Astra Theatre, or how to donate, visit www.TheNextAct.org.
