State Sen. Mark Messmer,  Huntingburg Mayor, Denny Spinner, Jasper Mayor, Terry Seitz and Dubois Strong President Ed Cole  joined Gov. Eric Holcomb as he ceremonially signs Senate Enrolled Act 128 into law at the Statehouse this past Thursday, June 29th.

With this law, multiple counties can form a Regional Development Authority (RDA) that will allow local communities can pool their resources together and work with the Indiana Department of Transportation to expedite regional infrastructure projects.

The RDA would also have the opportunity in certain cases to apply for Fostering Advancements in Shipping and Transportation for the Long-term Achievement of National Efficiencies (FASTLANE) grants from the Federal Highway Administration.

The law also expands the types of entities that can apply for local infrastructure revolving loan funds. Messmer authored the bill as a way to provide more road funding for local communities.
