Thanks to a water line that broke along 15th Street between Greene and Royal Streets in Jasper Thursday morning and due to the nature of the work that took place this morning the City of Jasper Gas & Water Department has issued a neighborhood boil order effective immediately for all customers on 15th Street between Greene and Royal Streets due to the line being replaced.
Officials say a boil water advisory is issued when some type of event has created the potential for contamination to enter the water supply.
City officials will be testing water samples over the next few days to determine when the water will be safe to consume.
