Four different Dubois County industries spent part of the holiday weekend accepting different types of donations from the public in order to help victims of areas devastated by Hurricane Harvey and will continue to do so thoughout the week.

Area residents joined the efforts by donating appropriate items to the designated drop off locations. Volunteers will remain available a couple of drop points to help organize and inventory the donations.

Items being accepted are: water; diapers, wipes, Desitin, A&D Ointment, powder, formula and bottles for babies; personal hygiene supplies of toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo,conditioner, body wash, soap and feminine products; toilet paper; paper towels; blankets and pillows; air mattresses; non-perishable food items; trash bags; medium and large plastic storage bins; socks and underwear and insect repellents.

Kimball International recieved items at the Jasper Municipal Pool thoughout the day on Monday.

OFS Brands began accepting donations at Huntingburg Memorial Gym over the weekend and will do so today through today through Friday from 4 til 6 pm.

Best Home Furnishings will recieve items at their Plant 3 location along Kentucky Street in Ferdinand from 3 to 6 pm today through Friday.

And Jasper Engines & Transmissions will collect items at the Schroeder Complex in Jasper from 3 till 6 pm today through Friday.

Any cash donations collected will be used to purchase pallets of bottled water.
