Superior Ag along with Land O’Lakes Inc. Foundation collectively donated twelve thousand dollars between the two organizations. Land O’Lakes Inc. Foundation, and their commitment to rural communities, matches donations made by local cooperatives in which enhance the quality of life.

Marketing and Communications Specialist, Megan Hasenour described that upon delivering the check, the Bread of Life Ministry representatives were holding back tears accepting the donation. Hasenour said as they accepted the check “you could sense the burden being lifted off their shoulders.”

The Ministry had just cancelled agency pick-ups for the following day due to their low inventory.

President and CEO of Superior Ag, Barry Day shared that local farm families feed and fuel the world and that Superior Ag is committed to do the same. He added that “it is an honor to support local food banks to help fight hunger and that with their donation, Bread of Life Ministry can continue to provide nutritious, healthy, and wholesome meals to local families in need who reside in the cooperative footprint.”

Superior Ag is cooperative owned and controlled by a local farmer-member board and continues to support local organizations, schools, FFA chapters, 4-H clubs, fire departments and various community projects.

Bread of Life Ministry began in 1973 serving 10 families and by 2008 were able to help over 1 million individuals in the Tri-State area (Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky), Tennessee and various states throughout the U.S.

Bread of Life Ministry relies on donations from private donors, businesses, and charitable organizations allowing them to provide food and clothing to those in need. This includes individuals, families, and local area agencies with their own food pantries and clothing needs.
