A Jasper man considered suspicious in nature was arrested on of drug related charges early this morning after an officer noticed him walking through a north side Jasper neighborhood.

Around 6:30 this morning an officer with the Jasper Police Department observed a male later identified as 42-year old Christopher Merder of Jasper on foot and looking as police described it suspicious in the area of 41st Street and Lee Drive.

Police say Merder gave the officer consent to conduct a search which revealed 5 and a half grams of methamphetamine that was packaged in several small baggies as well as paraphernalia.

Merder was taken to and booked into the Dubois County Security Center on a Level 3 felony count of Dealing, a Level 5 Felony count of Possession of Meth and a Class A Misdemeanor count of Possession of Paraphernalia.
