A Loogootee man was placed under arrest on a multiple charges after he was involved in a domestic dispute at a Jasper residence over the weekend.

Jasper Police say around 6 p.m. on Saturday night officers were dispatched to a residence located along 15th street in Jasper. A physical altercation between a man and a woman was said to have taken place.

After conducting an investigation, police determined that 32-year old William Burris Jr. of Loogootee had battered and strangled a female as well as her 4-year old son, along with damaging property within the residence.

Burris was placed under arrest and taken to the Dubois County Security Center. He was booked on two level 5 felony county of domestic battery, two level 6 felony counts of strangulation and a class B misdemeanor county of criminal mischief.
