Billy J. Moesner, age 79, of Huntingburg, passed away at 4:43 p.m., on Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

He was born January 12, 1939, in Selvin, Indiana to Edward and Marylee (Wright) Moesner; and married Lois A. Batch on August 1, 1959, at the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingburg.  Billy was a skilled cabinet maker for Kimball; and a retired Captain with the Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department where he served the community for 46 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, handgun shooting, watching his grandchildren play sports, and woodworking with his wife Lois.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois A. Moesner, who died September 24, 2016; one brother, Norman Moesner; and one sister, Carolyn Ingram.

Mr. Moesner is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jay (Linda) Moesner of Holland; two sisters, Joyce Wilder of Selvin and LaDonna Mitchum of Albany, Georgia; two grandchildren, Zachary D. (Justine) Moesner of Holland and Cody M. Moesner of Holland; and three great grandchildren, Maxwell, Evelyn and Eleanor.

Funeral services for Billy J. Moesner will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Central Christian Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  Pastor Paul Newland will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 24th; and also at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Thursday.  The Indiana Volunteer Firefighter’s Association District #18 and the Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to Central Christian Church or the Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department.  Condolences may be shared online at:  www.nassandson.com
